Vodafone considering kicking Google for Yahoo?

Under: Google Android, News Date: March 7th, 2009

The current default search engine on Vodafone mobile phones is Google, however that agreement comes to an end this year, and the word is Vodafone is thinking of giving Google the boot in favour of Yahoo.

Apparently with word is Vodafone is in negotiations with Yahoo, but as yet no contracts have been signed. Yahoo currently have an agreement with T-Mobile and O2 and should an agreement be reached with Vodafone, Yahoo will be providing a huge number of handsets across Europe with Web search services.

One has to wonder that if Vodafone and Yahoo do reach an agreement just how Yahoo mobile search will work on the HTC Magic as the Magic runs Google Android. Still no doubt Google may even make an offer to retain Vodafone, guess we’ll have to wait and see.
