Nokia considers dropping DRM for Comes with Music service.

Under: Nokia, Phone Software Date: March 9th, 2009

Nokia is considering dropping DRM from music available via the Nokia Comes with Music service, and if so then follows in the footsteps of Apple. Nokia Comes with Music is only available of a few mobile phones at the moment one of which is the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic.

Nokia Comes with Music users can download songs from the Nokia Music Store for twelve months and can keep the music after the year is up.

Nokia Music Store has music from all four major record labels but the DRM stops the transfer to other digital music devices and being burned to a CD, but Nkia is in talks with companies to gain DRM free.
