There has been the usual excitement surrounding the supposed Palm saviour, the Palm Pre smartphone, and all that notice concentrated on the Palm Pre drags attention away from the long-awaited carrier supported Palm Treo Pro.

This obviously has a knock on effect, and Palm has now put 18.5 million shares of its stock back on the market which will hopefully drag in $49 million to play with, and Elevation Partners, Palm’s main investor will no doubt take a large piece of that cash.

So it appears that the future of Palm rests with the success of the Palm Pre, but can the Palm Pre actually save Palm?
