Nokia virtual music stores to come to India?

Under: Mobile Phones, Nokia Date: March 11th, 2009

Nokia is apparently in negotiations with the top music content providers and music companies with a view to launch Nokia virtual music stores across India. Nokia intend to provide the service in India with a free 1 year subscription when purchasing a Nokia Symbian S60 handset.

Nokia India Regional General Manager (North), Mr. Chandan Dang, has said Nokia has joined hands with about 150 music companies which include, Sony BMG, Universal Music and Warner Bros.

Dang also confirmed that Nokia intend to launch this service sometime in the first half of this year as their similar service in the UK on the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is getting a good response, but the format for India may be different.
