Apple iTunes music management software received an update to 8.1 from Apple yesterday, and along with the update comes a host of goodies and several security fixes.

The new iTunes 8.1 delivers new features to Genius which lets users put tunes together in their library which “go great together,” and now supports CD imports for iTunes Plus.

iTunes 8.1 also features enhancements that…adds a Genius sidebar for movies and TV shows…improved performance when downloading iTunes Plus songs…allows friends to request songs for iTunes DJ…enables iTunes U and the iTunes Store to be disabled separately using Parental Controls…and delivers AutoFill for manually managed iPods.
