It’s certainly been a long time coming and after several weeks of false alarms and curious speculation, T-Mobile is now officially stating that “Cupcake” Android update will hit the T-Mobile G1 next month.

This information comes via a T-Mobile spokesperson, which means at last Google Android users will gain an on screen keyboard along with a host of other feature which will improve the Android performance.

The T-Mobile spokesperson also disclaimed any connection with the upcoming launch of the HTC Magic, which is only to be expected at this stage. Still only a couple of more weeks as G1ers will be able to finally see what Cupcake is capable of.
