Skype for the Apple iPhone is now finally available in the US via the Apple iTunes App Store for free, and the guys over at Engadget have apparently heard great things from Japan who has been playing with it for he last 12 hours.
Apparently after initial good reports there seems to be a few problems with Skype for iPhone as reports say it crashes jailbroken handsets, and possibly unjailbroken iPhones.
Another update states that Skype for iPhone dialling over 3G only works for those using iPhone OS 3.0 beta, but everyone else is left with frequent crashes and lost audio. Having said this when using Skype for iPhone over WiFi as it was intended it works better than any 3rd party app.
