3 reduce UK mobile losses to £152 million

After 6 years in the UK, 3 mobile operator has sharply reduced their losses in Britain. Pre tax losses for December 08 slimmed down from £1.4 billion 5 years ago to £152 million and is down from £791 million one year ago, according to an article on timesonline

£157 million earnings was produced before interest, tax and depreciation as to a loss of £354 million a year ago. 3 revenues that are owned by Hutchinson Whampoa of Hong Kong jumped 18% to £1.5 billion.

3 currently have eight percent of the market in the UK with a customer base of 4.9 million, and have faced problems since launch back in 03. 3’s networking deal with T-Mobile should further boost performance.
