Android developers get ready for Android 1.5

Android developers are getting excited as they gain a first early look at the Android 1.5 SDK, which as reported earlier is based on the Cupcake branch, and according to android-developers, introduces API’s for soft keys, live folders, speech recognition and home screen widgets.

The word is there have also been changes made to the developer tools and the SDK structure, meaning Android developers with Android 1.5 can now target different Android platform versions from within a single SDK installation.

API’s for Android 1.5 haven’t yet been finalised, most are settled but there may be changes made before the final release which should be available by the end of the month.
