AT&T exclusive Apple iPhone deal possible extension beyond 2010

It appears that AT&T doesn’t want to lose its exclusivity rights to the Apple iPhone according to unnamed sources being quoted by the WSJ.

Word is AT&T wants to extend their current exclusive deal with Apple for the Apple iPhone, which is due to end in 2010, and they are trying to get an extension to run through 2011 minimum.

Apparently an Apple spokesperson declined to comment but did say Apple has a great relationship with AT&T. AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson is currently in discussions with Apple in the hopes of keeping the Apple iPhone out of the hands of rival carriers.
