In a time when financial troubles are hitting hard in the mobile arena, mobile manufacturers must do whatever to keep the cash rolling in. And it looks like Nokia is about to take a step that will no doubt keep the profits rising.

According to DigiTimes, Nokia is to update the popular Nokia 5800 XpressMusic by replacing the handsets resistive touch-screen with a capacitive one on future versions.

Apparently, Nokia has placed initial orders for capacitive touch-screens to produce some 2 million Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handsets. Furthermore, apparently sources familiar to the Nokia roadmap have said shipping of this new version begins in May or June.
