Bluetooth 3.0 details and specs: Increased speeds with 802.11 radio protocol

A report by the guys of gsmarena reveals the details and specifications of the latest version of Bluetooth, Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed which apparently promises up to 8 times the speed of Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR.

These high speeds of Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed are attained by utilising 802.11 radio protocol, which is of course WiFi.

With Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed the user will be able to stream video files to a TV or computer straight from their mobile phone or a Bluetooth enabled camera and is a simplified way of connecting two devices. This new standard is also backwards compatible and reverts to regular Bluetooth when 802.11 isn’t available.
