The latest Apple iPhone 3.0 beta which has been dubbed 7a280f apparently has all kinds of new features tucked within according to theappleblog.
One such feature is audio scrubbing in iTunes which enables the scrubbing of any iPod track by moving the track duration slider back and forth, similar to podcast scrubbing. There is also apparently the ability to close out all open windows in mobile Safari.
There is also a new settings screen for push notifications which Apple is encouraging devs to test and apparently the settings now allow the iPhoner to on or off, Sound, Badge, and Notification alerts. Furthermore data detectors have been expanded to other applications such as Notes.
