So the latest round between the Palm Pre and the Apple iPhone comes via pcworld as they give their first impression thoughts.
The Palm Pre is apparently trying to knock the Apple iPhone off its perch, much like other smartphones have tried and failed to do. The Palm Pre’s design is top notch but it will only become successful based on what customers think of its operating system, the webOS, which Palm uses as a selling point.
Obviously Palm has put a great deal into the Palm Pre and has indeed brought some innovations that set it apart from the rest. However the Palm Pre still isn’t out there, and with a new Apple iPhone looming along with several other new smartphones Palm may just lose out, and in that case there’s no chance of the Pre knocking the iPhone anywhere.
