iPhone OS 3.0 will allow Page 3 type content in App Store

Under: Apple iPhone, Phone Software
Date: May 5th, 2009

It seems the big news is that Apple is to ship new parental controls in iPhone OS 3.0 which will enable adult content to be placed in the Apple iTunes App Store and thus downloaded onto the Apple iPhone according to a report on appleinsider.

Apple recently rejected Newspaper app creator Makayama’s submission due to including the UK daily newspaper The Sun which features topless models on page 3, but with the new parental controls in iPhone OS 3.0, Makayama can resubmit and probably be accepted.

The new upgrade is due to land in the summer and will open up content for the Apple iPhone and the parental controls should allow parents to block inappropriate content, and thus prevent young children from see stuff like Page 3.
