Smartphone Sales dominated by RIM BlackBerry

There is no doubt that the Apple iPhone has been a best seller in the mobile market in the United States, however according to an article on dailytech, the Apple iPhone is no longer the best selling smartphone.

Apparently the iPhone now steps aside from the number one spot and hands over to RIM’s BlackBerry Curve, which includes all 83xx models, with another RIM smartphone taking 3rd place behind the iPhone, the BlackBerry Storm.

RIM now holds 50% of the market growing by 15% whereas Apple saw their market share shrink by 10%. Globally, smartphones account for 23% of the mobile market and rises 6% year on year.
