According to a report by electronista, Jonathan Oakes, former senior director of Palm has now joined HP in their Emerging Business Unit.
The HP Emerging Business Unit deals with iPAQ smartphones, general mobile business and custom PC software, and the rumour is Oakes is to help revive HP’s smartphone business.
No details on what this move actually means but it could point to HP possibly moving along from Windows Mobile to embrace other platforms such as Google Android. Hard to say at this point, but we will keep our ears and eyes open on this one to see what occurs.
