Samsung Mobile Display sees Recovery in 2010

Equal joint venture between Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDI, Samsung Mobile Display expects the global mobile display market to recover to the level of 2008 after contracting this year, next year states a report on Reuters.

Samsung VP in charge of marketing, Lee Woo-jong has said “The entire mobile phone market will contract this year but a rebound will start in the second half. Smartphones are driving the market’s growth, just like colour phones were a decade ago.”

Samsung Mobile Display is aiming to keep their market share in mobile phone displays to roughly 25% this year and the next and is looking to growth in premium organic light emitting diode displays and touch screens.
