Skype has now begun testing Skype Lite for BlackBerry. The closed beta is full for now but shouldn’t take too long to be opened up for the BlackBerry toting public.

Hopefully the same issues that have been experienced before won’t crop up this time but if they do maybe Research In Motion will try to keep the VoIP client out of BlackBerry App World, or we may see it being relegated to WiFi only says Intomobile.

Still if Skype doesn’t make the grade on BlackBerry or if you simply can’t wait for the open beta there are plenty of 3rd party applications out there.
