RIM warns of PDF vulnerability, apparently Server versions 4.1.3 to 5.0 are affected, RIM (Research In Motion) has warned that there are critical bugs in the BlackBerry Professional Software and BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

This bug could be used to execute malicious code and shut down a server; these bugs are the latest to affect the PDF distiller component of the BlackBerry Attachment Service which is not good news at all. RIM haven’t given details of the flaws but have said that they could be exploited via a specially crafted PDF file.

There is an interim patch available from RIM’s website that will fix the problem, more information via BlackBerry.
