According to pcworld Garmin-Asus has confirmed they plan on releasing their first Android platform smartphone “no later than the first quarter of next year.”

Furthermore apparently an Asus executive also stated that this new Android smartphone may well show a bit earlier, but didn’t speculate any further on the handset or what price it may command.

Having said that, you just have to look at the Garmin Asus record for pushing out mobile phones on schedule such as the G60 nuviphone for example, did that ever arrive by the way, or are we still waiting on that one?
