Can’t wait for the launch of the Palm Pre, or simply don’t think you’ll get one of those short supply handsets? Don’t worry because apparently you can pick one up early from eBay.

According to a report on gadgetvenue, there is an eBay seller who has apparently managed to get hold of several Palm Pre handsets still boxed and contract free, and is offering them for $899 with free shipping.

Just where he managed to get hold of them I don’t know, but I checked the eBay listings this morning and found that this item has now been removed, so looks like Sprint or Palm stepped in and possible persuaded eBay to take it down
