Samsung Omnia successor is Omnia2 and i8000

The latest word from over at slashphone is that the Samsung Omnia has now got a successor which will be known as the Samsung Omnia2 and Samsung i8000, why two names I have no idea, so why not simply call it the Samsung Omnia2 i8000?

Anyway, the Samsung Omnia2/i8000 apparently has two very important additions over the original Samsung Omnia, first there is now a 3.7 inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen and the second it now gains an 8.1 megapixel camera with dual flash LED and video recording in VGA.

Furthermore, the TouchWiz user interface will still run everything over Windows Mobile and will receive a refresh. Samsung will hold a press event on the 15th of June and will hopefully announce the Omnia2 then.
