BlackBerry Tour 9630 for Verizon slips back to mid-August?

Apparently the BlackBerry Tour 9630 smartphone destined for Verizon Wireless and last heard of release day being sometime in July, has now been pushed back to a mid-August arrival according to an article on phonearena.

Although instructional and promo materials turning up in Bell stores along with a proper device with Telus signal that the Blackberry Tour 9630 will be in Canada sooner than later, so a mid-August launch for the US seems unlikely and thus should be treated as rumour.

The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is a fair old deal for CDMA carriers whose only other real options thus far for serious business have been the BlackBerry 8300 and 8830.

Are you kidding? You run a story based upon a comment by a sales rep in San Antonio? Thats credible informaiton about the Tour’s release date? Sales reps know less about the phone and its release than we do. Please…Some sense of responsibility here.
