End of Mobile Phone Carrier Exclusivity in sight?

Mobile phone exclusivity can be a right pain for potential customers, especially if they simply don’t like a particular mobile carrier but want a mobile phone that is exclusive to them.

However, mobile phone exclusivity may be coming to an end over in the US anyway as a report on tech.yahoo has it that US Senators have requested the regulators at the FCC to review the practice of locking mobile handsets to wireless carriers, such as the iPhone .

The main concern of the request is that the exclusive agreements damage customer choice. So with a little luck the exclusivity contract will disappear in the States, and then maybe elsewhere will follow as well.
