Are you happy Palm Pre is coming to O2 UK?

We posted an article the other day on the Palm Pre coming to the United Kingdom and will be exclusive to O2 UK, which can be found here.

But are you happy with O2 UK gaining exclusivity over the Palm Pre or would you prefer it to be more readily available via other carriers such as Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile?

O2 already has exclusivity with the iPhone 3GS, and now the Palm Pre as well, but would it not be more fair to the mobile phone toting public to make new handsets more widely available rather than forcing them to go to a single carrier, thus basically handicapping their right of choice.

So readers, are you happy the Palm Pre is coming to O2 UK?

James.

  1. I am deeply concerned about this at the point of competition. How can you have two phones that are pitted so close to each other, run by the same carrier? This should clearly be forwarded to the competition commision.

  2. Terry Rogers says:

Whilst I already use the iPhone 3GS, so the palm itself is of no interest to me, I do think that these operator exclusive deals with certain handsets are wrong. I think as a user we should be able to choose the network that has the best Tariffs that fit in with our needs, not be forced to use a operator because we have to.
