iPhone 3.0: Apps with Push Notifications are good and bad

Under: Apple iPhone, Phone Software
Date: July 13th, 2009

Applications with push notifications are now rolling out for iPhone OS 3.0 and according to an article on the Washington Post; this is great as the feature is really useful, but to a point.

Apparently if an iPhone user has too many applications that have push notifications on the iPhone system becomes a lot less useful.

One of the problems is that push notification message indicators are not constructed for heavy usage, and if you have several push messages coming through only the latest push message will be shown on screen.

Basically if you want push notifications to work well with iPhone OS 3.0 the best thing is to not have loads of applications using push notification. For the complete story follow the link.
