HTC Windows Mobile Smartphones Vulnerable to Bluetooth Hacking

The word is HTC smartphones running Windows Mobile 6.0 or 6.1 are vulnerable to attack via Bluetooth reports an article on pcworld.

Apparently the problem lies with HTC using the same hackable Bluetooth driver in many of their Windows Mobile phones and includes the HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Cruise, HTC Touch Diamond, HTC S710 and HTC S740 handsets.

The file “obexfile.dll” driver is an HTC specific driver and is apparently vulnerable to “a directory traversal vulnerability in the Bluetooth OBEX FTP Service,” states Alberto Moreno Tablado, a security expert. SO far it is not know whether HTC will update their Bluetooth driver to fix the problem.
