iPhone Developer Claims Palm Pre WebOS not good for Games

Apparently the Palm Pre webOS doesn’t provide the environment to develop the serious games that mobile phone users expect these days according to an article on engadget mobile.

Craig A Hunter, a self proclaimed dedicated iPhone developer has said as much and also says that high amongst his concerns is the webOS’s lack of OpenGL access even though the Palm Pre supports Open GL.

Furthermore Palm limit developers to a 4Hz sample of raw accelerometer data which is way short of the minimum required 20Hz for games utilising tilt control. For more on this story just hit up the link.

  1. Marvelouss says:

Let’s see. You say in this little bit that Pre does not provide the right environment to develop serious games and at the same time you say the WebOS platform supports OpenGL (still needs clocking to 20Hz).

Don’t you think the powers that be at Palm will make the critical adjustments for developers?

This smacks of another iPhone fanboy/girl posting.
