The word is that Verizon Wireless has now confirmed they are to begin offering the Palm Pre smartphone as of early 2010 according to an article on cdfreaks.

Apparently the actual news of the Palm Pre going with Verizon Wireless isn’t too surprising but analysts are somewhat shocked at the Palm Pre going with Verizon so soon.

Sprint currently holds exclusivity over the Palm Pre smartphone and it wasn’t known how long that exclusivity would remain, but if true the Sprint exclusivity won’t last much longer, and the move to the USA’s number one carrier can only help Palm Pre sales.
