Complainers said iPhone ad was misleading, rejected Google fans

Under: Apple iPhone, Google Android
Date: July 30th, 2009

No doubt you have seen the Apple iPhone 3GS advert that states… “If you need to find a cab in a strange city, there’s an app for that. Or figure out your share of the bill for a table of five, there’s an app for that. Or fix a wobbly bookshelf, there’s even an app for that. Yep, there’s an app for just about anything. Only on the iPhone,” reports the register.

Well it seems a few Google Android packing T-Mobile G1 fans took umbrage to the iPhone 3GS advert and made complaints to the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority stating the advert was misleading due to the “Only on the iPhone” part as the Android Market also supplies applications.

Well the Advertising Standards Authority was having none of it as rejected the Google fans complaints stating Apple did not declare they are the only company to market mobile phone applications.
