Microsoft are said to be seeking a LIVE Community Director in the Entertainment & Devices Division according to a posting on August 10th 2009. It looks as if Microsoft are looking to bring Windows Mobile, Xbox Live and similar properties together.

There is also chat about a “casual and social gaming platform”, this would be accessible via not just one device but many. The LIVE Community Director would take care of the LIVE community strategy and execution, this person will play a major role within the community space. LIVE-enabled social gaming and casual platform via the Web and mobile.

The Microsoft job listing’s first key responsibility is to develop a community strategy which leverages all aspects of the LIVE Services group to provide engagements over three screens. The PC, TV (its console), and mobile phone (media player, phone, portable, etc). Back in February 2008 Zune were the first to be announced to have Xbox Live Community Games, then in June 2009 they became Indie Games.

Zune service and Xbox are only linked because Zune Video did not rename. There is hope of that changing when Zune HD is launched next month. Xbox Live and Windows Mobile is specifically mentioned in the job posting. Not a lot has been said about the two working alongside one another but it was said in October 08 that Zune software was to be used on the Windows Mobile platform.
