The Palm Pre smartphone is coming to O2 UK in time for Christmas, well that’s the official view from O2, but there are whispers roaming the internet apparently originating from an O2 employee that the Palm Pre has a release date with O2 UK set for the 30th of October reports mypre.

However, apparently The Register was told by an O2 spokesperson that the released date of 30th October is incorrect and has stated “No launch date has been announced.”

Obviously O2 would not confirm any leaked release date and stand firm on the “just in time for Christmas” announcement. But there have been other reports stating O2 will launch the Palm Pre on the 30th October even though O2 has now removed any reference to the Palm Pre from their front page.
