Seattle And Boston gains first 4G Calls thanks to Verizon

Verizon have something to be quite chuffed about and quite rightly so they celebrate completing their first 4G calls in Seattle and Boston.

It was a campaign and the challenge was to be the first among cellular operators to roll out a fourth generation network. The calls mark a baby step in rolling out a Nationwide 4G network, which has to compete with the likes of Clearwire’s WiMax service. The tests are kind of based on technology that will be used when Verizon launches commercially next year.

Apparently according to Tom Sawanobori Verizon’s Network VP. “the hardware is commercial today, but the software is not”. They plan to introduce commercial service on a slightly newer version of release 8. for more information visit moconews.net
