A leader in podcasting, National Public Radio has launched a free NPR News application for the Apple iPhone that opens up a new dimension for the network and member stations with on demand and live mobile streaming reports paidcontent.org.

The NRP News app for iPhone is the first application to make listening and reading to it equally important as it delivers not only audio coverage but also full text coverage.

Furthermore, along with NPR programs and those it distributes there is also direct access to local shows form over six hundred member stations on demand and live. NPR is not stopping with the iPhone either as they have applications in the pipeline for the Google Android platform and the Symbian platform.
