There is a very small spec gap between the Hero and Magic, except the completely revamped Sense UI, the only thing that has changed on the newer model is the Hero’s 5 megapixel camera.

Looks like that spec gap could be getting even smaller too, a press released has been issued by HTC noting a Sense upgrade for the magic. This upgrade is available for current owners at some point in October for NT$1,500, this works out around $46. We do not know as yet which Magics will be entitled to the upgrade.

At a guess, the carrier will set the selling price, Rogers, Vodafone and T-mobile customers should have an unenthusiastic view of this announcement, we suggest you wait for more info. The update will be free but unfortunately it is only coming to Taiwan’s Chunghwa at the moment.
