Microsoft developing software wrapper to enable iPhone devs to add Bing

News was reported on Wednesday, that a software wrapper is being developed by Microsoft; iPhone application developers will be able to add Bing search results to applications.

The wrapped is now being tested; it is based on Objective C. Microsoft’s’ wrapper is due for release in just a few weeks. There are a few steps that will need to be taken to incorporate Bing results in iPhone applications. Bing was revealed in June as a re-release of the Microsoft Live Search engine.

The wrapper might not be such good news for the search engine Google, by applying Bing into applications, Microsoft is entering an area which was once dominated by Google. Searches for computer hardware on sale can be made by creating an iPhone application. We will have to wait and see just how good this wrapper is when it’s released.
