As the reputation of Steve Jobs continues to slump, we have had word that Apple have tried to make a deal with Palm not to attempt to poach each others employees.

Palm replied with “Your proposal is not only wrong, it is likely illegal,” which is what Colligan said last August to Jobs according to the news agency. It seems Jobs succeeded in making an arrangement with Google, according to recently published reports. The feds are currently investigating and the allegations by Palm only make Apple look worse.

The discussion by Palm happened after the company hired away Jon Rubenstien, a long time Apple exec who is now credited with the smartphone strategy that resulted in the Palm Pre, which was released earlier in the year. Source – pcworld.com
