Facebook wants third-party apps to be more transparent

Under: Phone Software
Date: September 1st, 2009

Facebook has announced that it will act on privacy concerns and make them more transparent for users, with one complaint being Facebook continues to store info after a user has deleted their Facebook account reports an article on pcworld.

However probably the biggest security loophole is 3rd party applications, as not only does a user expose all their on profile info but their friend’s info as well; something that Facebook apparently addressed yesterday.

Facebook now state that 3rd party apps much be more transparent is showing a user what info they access, and hopefully a user will be required to sign off on which pieces of their Facebook info developers are allowed to drag into their app; for the full report hit up the link.
