According to an article on Reuters, Sprint Nextel has withdrawn their offer on their website of a $100 credit for new customers who purchase a Palm Pre smartphone, and have stated this was just a publishing mistake.

If the Palm Pre offer had of held it would have meant as 50% price cut on the Palm Pre handset just a couple of months after the Palm pre went on sale; the error was published by mistake confirmed James Fisher, Sprint spokesperson.

However, Fisher didn’t comment on whether such a type of offer on the Palm Pre smartphone had been considered
