Maemo-powered Nokia N900 smartphone not getting carrier customization

Under: Nokia
Date: September 11th, 2009

There could be some strain in the relationships between Nokia and global network carriers.

According to Reuters its been said that Nokia will not allow carrier customization on the forthcoming Maemo powered N900 smartphone. It seems that Nokia are following in the footsteps of companies like Apple and Google, which do mostly lock out carrier customization.

Nokia announced the N900 slider smartphone, which has a full QWERTY keyboard and a 600MHz processor a 3.5 inch WVGA resistive touchscreen display and lots more at the end of last month.
Nokia don’t feel this will out strain on their relationships instead they feel it will help get the devices to market quicker. Source – mobileburn.com
