Hot on the heels of wanting to acquire T-Mobile UK and merge with Orange UK as one of the largest mobile phone companies within the United Kingdom, according to an article on the Telegraph, Deutsche Telekom is now looking to place a bid for Sprint within the next couple of weeks.

The Chief Exec of Deutsche Telekom, Rene Oberman has pledges to reverse the fortunes of T-Mobile UK and USA and now that T-Mobile UK is entering a joint venture with Orange, Oberman is focusing his efforts on T-Mobile USA.

T-Mobile USA has been struggling against such rivals as AT&T and Vodafone/Verizon joint venture. Combining T-Mobile USA and Sprint would place a close challenge on AT&T with 78.2 million customers.
