Apparently the PlayBite press event this week will enable journalists to gain a hands-on with the Palm Pre ahead of the official Palm launch of the Palm Pre smartphone in the UK according to pcadvisor.

On September the 15th, the event is to showcase Christmas wares from the likes of Sony, SanDisk, Netgear and also the “Palm – UK launch of the ‘iPhone killer’ Palm Pre”, with the Palm Pre becoming available in the UK, Germany and Ireland on O2 sometime in October.

Although the Palm Pre has been billed as seamlessly syncing with iTunes, currently the battle with the Palm Pre is with Apple not allowing the Palm pre to sync with iTunes with the release of iTunes 9 again breaking synchronisation with the Palm Pre.
