iPhone 3.1 Anti-phishing downloaded when charging to halt extra data fees

iPhone 3.1 update brought the anti-phishing feature to the iPhone’s Safari browser, so how do you enable the anti-phishing feature on your iPhone? Apple says the user should launch their Safari while connected via WiFi and then charge the iPhone with the screen off, this way the iPhone will download the latest database reports techwhack.

Apparently it has been designed to operate over WiFi to make sure that users don’t end up paying for any excessive data usage when using Edge or 3G.

Word is an Apple rep clarified any doubts about the new features and stated that Safari’s anti-phishing database is downloaded whilst the iPhone is being charges in order to protect battery life and ensure the user doesn’t gain any additional data fees.
