iPhone finally coming to South Korea

Believe it or not there are still some places where there the iPhone isn’t, and one of those places is South Korea, well that was up until the Korea Communications Commission regulator decided to allow the iPhone, and finally lifted the tech requirement which had blocked the iPhone from South Korea.

According to the WSJ, the Korea Communications Commission made an exception to a ruling that requires mobile phones sold in South Korea to use domestic tech for location based services like GPS, and comes on the back of months of consumer pressure.

South Korea stood out as one of the very few countries which wouldn’t allow the iPhone, and the 2nd largest mobile phone provider in the country by subscribers, KT Corps has stated that they are in talks with Apple with a view to selling the iPhone.
