Although there is nothing official, the word is that the Acer A1 Android smartphone is due to hit this month, and has now been put up for pre-order on Expansys reports engadget mobile.

The asking price at pre-order is some €389 which is about $571 and you can sign up for notification to as and when the Acer A1 becomes available,

Spec wise the Acer A1 sports a 768Mhz Qualcomm 8250 processor, Android 2.0 Donut operating system, 3.5 inch touch sensitive WVGA display, quad-band GSM/GPRA/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, HSPA/WCDMA 850/1900/2100, GPS, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and WiFi.
