The iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G TomTom Car Kit is now available to purchase un the United Kingdom via the Apple Store reports an article over on good gear guide.
Apparently the TomTom Car Kit for iPhone is up for pre-order with a shipping time of between two to three weeks and is claimed to deliver secure and safe docking with the freedom to make voice calls while on the move and commands a price tag of £99.99.
The Apple Store advert initially stated that “You get both the TomTom navigation app for your iPhone 3GS or 3G and the docking kit to hold your iPhone securely in place on your dashboard or windscreen.” However this isn’t the case as TomTom has confirmed that the application is a separate purchase to the TomTom car Kit for iPhone.
Don’t worry about the hands free calling, get a bluetooth headset, costs 10 times less than the docking station. Also go to a shop to but a cradle to hold your IPhone on the windscreen. Thats another £10.
So for a fifth of the price you can use IPhone tomtom satnav in your car, without too many problems.
Just have to see how the new software update improves the driving experience..
