The word is that iPhone carrier AT&T has now acquired mobile applications developer Plusmo. Plusmo makes it easy to develop applications for various smartphone and delivers developers the necessary tools to convert and port their mobile apps to numerous mobile platforms.
Business Week reports that AT&T is looking to tap into the growing applications market and not only on the Apple iPhone; they want to encourage mobile developer to craft applications for all of their smartphones.
Plusmo is a privately held company in Santa Clara, California, and AT&T has not yet disclosed just how much the acquisition is going to cost.
