Verizon stops selling Hub phone

Apparently as of Tuesday, Verizon Wireless stopped offering the Verizon Hub; the halting of the Verizon Hub comes only 8 months after its launch reports Reuters.

The Verizon Hub was an experimental device that combined Web apps with a home phone. Verizon has not stated why they stopped selling the Hub.

Originally, Verizon touted the Hub back in January as a reinvention of the home phone due to its roomy touch screen a web applications such as traffic reports and the weather.

Verizon has also shown prototypes of future Hubs but analysts have said it would be difficult to convince consumers the Hub was better than a traditional home phone and worth paying extra for in today’s economy.
