The Android packing HTC Hero must be making quite a splash in the sea of mobile phones as apparently the HTC Hero has now been voted Gadget of the Year.

According to an article on metro, the HTC Hero smartphone which features the Google Android platform gained Gadget of the Year at the 2009 Stuff Gadget Awards.

On of the judges, Fraser Macdonald has said, ‘With the HTC Hero, we’ve finally got a phone that fully exploits the potential of the Android OS to be as clever and as sexy as the iPhone.’

At the awards event organised by Stuff magazine at London’s Dorchester Hotel, the iPhone 3GS also snapped up two awards, Reader’ Gadget of the Year and Phone of the Year.
